Family stories.

We all have stories about our families, especially about our parents and grandparents.  I'd dearly love to include them here, and save copies for future generations.  When I think of all the stories I heard from my uncles when I was small, and especially when I contemplate how few of them I remember today, I really regret that I (or someone) didn't write them down long ago.  How wonderful it would be if we had tales told by Arie Crijnzn (Arie Cryn's son) about his father Arie, in 1640 A.D or thereabouts?  Who was he, that remote ancestor of us Lugtharts?  We don't know.  We can't go back and ask someone to write about him.

If any of you have stories or favorite memories, please, write them.  If you're not much of a writer, it doesn't matter.  A good story doesn't have to be perfect.  I'm a professional writer, with eleven books so far, and the copyeditors still have to fix my mistakes.  The stories are what matter.  We can fix the spelling or grammar.

Whenever I get a story about someone who is on the Lugthart Family Tree, I'll link it to their name and the names of the person(s) in the story,  in the family pages, so anyone who is interested in that person can read about them.

Don't be like me and wait fifty years, until the memories become dim, the names of the people forgotten.  Write them down, and send them to me here.  Your great-great grandchildren will thank you for them.
