Family Pages.
What you see on the main (outline) tree isn't all there is. When you see a name highlighted and underlined as below (or however your browser shows a link to another page or site) a click on it will take you to a Family page about that person and their immediate family. (The examples shown aren't really linked. You'll have to go to the real Family Tree to try it.)

At this stage of the lugthart.org project,
there may not be much there, but there's room for it: we need pictures,
people's occupations, all sorts of things. Just about anything you
have might be a valuable contribution.
Navigating the Family Pages.
You
get to the Family Pages from the main (outline) tree, by clicking on any
name that is marked as a link. From there, you can go in several
directions. The highlighted "Back" in the upper left corner
will take you to the parents of the featured person. If the
person's children are highlighted, clicking will take you to their pages.
Photos and Documents.
Photographs and copies of documents (obituaries,
letters, etc.) are mostly on the Family Pages, which look like the Netscape
screen on the left. The small pictures are not the real thing!
To see them full size, click on them with the right button on your
mouse, and select the "View image" option. You can also copy (save)
it to your own hard drive. If you find one of your great-grandmother
in a swimsuit, you may want to contact the lugthart.org webmaster for a
high-resolution copy to print for the family room wall.
It's impossible to know, from the tree, if a particular individual isn't listed, but the big gaps in information are noticeable. On the fragment of the Lugthart Family Tree shown below, the listings in green show a line of descent from Crijn in 1630 to Nicholas in 1997. Listings in red (with no spouse shown, and no higher numbered generations) don't mean they had no descendants, only that we don't have the information. In the case of the two individuals shown in magenta, it's likely that they died as children, because in both cases there is a sibling with the same name, lower in the list.

If you find one of your known ancestors on the tree, but you aren't on it, or if you think you're related because there's a Lugthart somewhere in your own family, get in touch, and we'll see what can be done to "patch you in."
I'm not sure how important so-called "politically correct" speech is
outside the USA (where we redefine words almost daily so no one will get
his feelings hurt by them.) I don't have the time or the inclination
to make sure that 50% of the pronouns I use generically have the feminine
gender, or to type "he/she" and "her/his" everytime I need a non-specific
pronoun. Notice that I used the word "gender" earlier in the paragraph,
referring to a word: that's the only way you'll see it here, because people
don't have gender(s), only words do. People have sex(es). Let's
keep it simple, Okay? Sex = male or female on these pages, and the
generic pronouns are "he," "him," "his," and "mankind." If
you want to fight about it, send me an email.
